About

The Habibis is three game developers drinking some good Arab Tea for what should be about forty minutes, inshallah, each week, inshallah. Fawzi Mesmar, Osama Dorias, and Rami Ismail discuss games and media and life as a bunch of Arabs living all over the big world.

Osama Dorias is the Lead Game Designer at Warner Brothers Montreal, and a game design teacher at Dawson College. He loves to empower people in expressing themselves through game making. Osama especially loves to give a voice to marginalized people and causes. He has hosted game jams, workshops and other community activities to this end, which has culminated in co-founding the Montreal Independent Games Awards.

Fawzi Mesmar is an award winning game designer, Creative Director, author and public speaker that has been in the gaming industry for over 18 years in a career that spanned The Middle East, New Zealand, Japan and Europe working for companies such as DICE (EA), King (Activision Blizzard), Gameloft and Atlus Ltd to name a few. As a game designer / Director he has worked on over 20 titles that have been enjoyed by millions of players worldwide including entries in Battlefield, Persona and Candy Crush franchises.

Rami Ismail is a Dutch-Egyptian independent games & tool developer with over 20 titles across PC, console, web, and mobile. The co-founder of the influential now-retired indie games studio Vlambeer, Rami worked on award-winning and genre-defining games such as Ridiculous Fishing and Nuclear Throne. His development of tools like the industry-standard dopresskit.com, his public speaking, consultancy, initiatives, and insights have helped shape industry opportunities for developers worldwide.
